WAVA’s members have decades of expertise in infectious disease, public health sciences, bioengineering formulation technology, global health delivery, and healthcare policy experience. There is a history of cooperative work among the founding member institutions:

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

PATH

Seattle BioMed

Washington State University

University of Washington

WAVA seeks to expand its network of collaborators, drawing from the expertise of academic institutions, private research organizations, non-profits, commercial partners, and governmental institutions. WAVA’s vision is to become a leader in advancing effectual, rapid, cost-effective vaccine development and deployment. This is expected to occur not only by permitting member organizations to leverage each other’s expertise and facilities, but also through mutually beneficial intellectual property policies.
